Working together to strengthen communities across Canada
In 1988, United Way Centraide Canada and the Canadian Labour Congress began working together in pursuit of a shared goal: ensuring that workers and working families have the support they need to succeed.
Since then, union members and Labour representatives across Canada have been actively involved with the United Way Centraide movement as donors, volunteers, and advocates. This includes serving on United Way Centraide boards and committees and offering programs like cooperative housing, childcare, and other services to people in local communities nationwide.
In 2016, then-President of the Canadian Labour Congress, Hassan Yussuff, endorsed our national partnership and our commitment to continuing to work together for change.
