A dual U.S. and Canadian citizen, Debra Pozega Osburn is a recognized expert in communications, public affairs, government and community relations, alumni relations, and fund development. The daughter of two public school teachers who were the first in their families to attend university, she has a passion for education that began at a young age and helped define her career path. Dr. Pozega Osburn has held leadership roles at three research-intensive universities – Michigan State University; the University of Alberta; and the University of Saskatchewan. Earlier in her career she worked as a journalist and was a principal and partner in a communications consulting firm that served the education, association and non-profit sectors. Debra earned both a master’s and doctorate in American Studies from Michigan State, as well as a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She has held various faculty teaching positions throughout her career and has served as a director on numerous non-profit governing boards.
